Is there any wrong doing by my auto insurance company?

Had a wreck on a monday, wasnt my fault and other driver we "think" was uninsured. thankfully i had full coverage. my car was undrivable so it was towed away. the following day i had to call my insurunce company to give the information. after waiting 2 day they finaly called and told me that my policy covered $20 a day on rental and they will make the arrangements that day. after looking over my policy i seen that it covered $30 not $20 so i had to call back for them to make the changes. then on friday, 5 days later they called to get my statement about the wreck and afterwards told me that it wouldnt be till next week till they got someone out there to asess my car, and if there was anything i need out of it i should go get it, i asked him about my plates and he said that since more then likely their going to total the car and the plates would be useless. he again stated that he would know something by next wendsday and would call me no matter what by thursday. as patient as i am i said ok. so next week arrives, its a tuesday and since i have to pay for the gas in the rental car it took me a few days to save up the money to make it to the junkyard since it was out of town. when i get there i was informed that someone had already came and took pictures of it and hauled it away. i was like wtf ? on top of that, one of the whole reasons why i had to the junk yard was to sign a release for my car to be taken away. so i wait till thursday and no call from them like they said. so i gave them till the end of the day and then called and after being put on hold for 5 minutes i was told i would be called back. neeever happened…. so i gave them benifit of the doubt and wait till the end of the day friday, almost 2 whole weeks since my wreck. after being put on hold again for 5 minutes i was told that if i didnt hear from them in 45 minutes then to call back, so 45 minutes later i called back and the guy had left.. so i asked to talk to someone else, i was put on hold and then someone came on and gave me the guys cell #. so i had to call this guy on his cell and was informed that they still havnt had anyone go look at my car and being that next week is thanksgiving they will be busy and not sure when and if they will know somethign next week. oh, and also that my car is about 45 miles away in one of their yards so they didnt get charged storage fees and if i needed the stuff out of my car i would have to go get it. yeah, like i can afford the gas for that. and if needed they may be able to send it back to me for a fee.

so with all that being said, i would like to know if there is any wrong doing here ? i have delt with insurance before but never took this long and never felt like i was being avoided. on top of all this, i still dont know whats going to happen to my car nor if they ever got ahold of the other person to find out if they were insured or not. being that xmas is coming up and i need to know how i need to know if i am going to have to put extra money aside i cant wait this long. but again, i just need to know from insurance professionals if this is normal and if there is any wrong doing. pls dont reply explaing how uninsured motorist work.

I would keep trying and if it comes to an outrageous point, tell the person that you are unhappy with the service on your policy

Yes, it does seem slow. Can’t change anything now, but maybe when you get it settled and get another car, might be time to nose around for another insurance company. I got T-boned a couple of years back, and State Farm totaled my car & I had a new one within 5 or 6 work days.
